A Brewing Storm by Richard Castle
Raging Storm by Richard Castle
A Bloody Storm by richard Castle
This should be one book. Derek Storm is an old CIA agent who is brought out of non-existence to help solve a kidnapping and eventually a murder, but eventually becomes international intrigue and conflict. Pure action.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
The Island of Guernsey was occupied by the Germans untill the end of WWII. This is a series of letters between the residents of Guernsey and a young author from England. Part romance, part history of the island. Great insight into the experience of being occupied. Excellent. Adult.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Old School by Jeff Kinney
Book 10. These never get old. Oh wait, this is old school. Grandpa moves in and the family dynamics gets tossed in the air. Mom thinks the whole town should try an unplugged weekend which doesn't go over well with Greg. He ends up going to Camp Hardscrabble which is just as awful as you can imagine. Lots of toilet and stink humor as usual. Not terrible.

Winter; the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
Though slightly concerned this wasn't a finale, I was happy this did come to a satisfying conclusion, wrapping up the stories of Cinder, Scarlet, Cress and Winter along with their paramours Kai, Wolf, Thorne and Jacin. Plenty of intrigue and action in this one. The final conflict is pretty violent, but war should never be glorified. Great Read. YA for romance and violence.

Earth Star by Janet Edwards
Book two: Jarra Tell Morrath continues her experience as an earth "ape" on a history team that excavates ancient sites looking for stasis boxes. Only she has been secretly conscripted into the military along with her twoing partner Fian due to an alien invasion. This is different--no your typical dystopia. Things are pretty good for humans. Jarra feels the pain of not being able to ever leave earth because of her handicap, but she is smart, strong and resilient. This is a bit slow compared to Fifth Wave, for example. But sweet. YA for sexual innuendos.
